Dr. Mary McIntosh is Principal and President of PSRAI and a specialist in health, education and international research. With more than 20 years of experience conducting social and policy research, Dr. McIntosh has won international recognition for her ground-breaking surveys in post-communist societies. As Director of the European Branch of the United States Information Agency’s Office of Research, she conducted hundreds of surveys worldwide and regularly briefed senior government officials on west and east European elite and public attitudes toward domestic and foreign policy issues including attitudes toward U.S.-European security relations, European integration, immigration, peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and domestic politics.
Trained as a medical sociologist and methodologist, McIntosh has extensive domestic survey research experience. While on the faculty at the Dallas Health Science Center, she conducted research on socio-cultural aspects of health care. As Senior Evaluator for the Dallas Independent School District, McIntosh studied race relations and desegregation in regional schools and evaluated numerous educational programs. She has taught statistics and research methods courses for Boston University, the University of Maryland and the Dallas Health Science Center.
McIntosh is an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at George Washington University and holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Applied Statistics from North Texas University. She has published extensively on European and American society and politics, and is a frequent speaker at international and national conferences.
